Did you know that there is a paint that you can paint the walls and the next family’s kids can draw all they want, this paint will allow you to WIPE it off like those white board :)

I know how ya feel about house . I have a family that do the renting too. My dad is the landlord, he has to keeps spending all his money cover up Katrina /stuffs or insurance will too. It is difficult ,wow! I was like “Those renters just want our money , lol” That is why he keepin’ go backward and forward to Lowe’s store looking for eraser paint too. My previous renter used to have wild kids like that too, dad kept eraser paint in basement in case he has an another renter w/ wild kids hahahhaha.
That why when my mom begged my dad recently for more kids, my dad remembered wild kids from renters and said NO WAY!!!!
In that case , if renter has kids or animal…you can increase price lol! because afterward they will leave ya a present …that way you can use a leftover price for a trip to Lowe’s store.

LOL.. that’s funny about charging renters extra for having pets or kids cuz that’s what Jes was jokingly about the other day. He was like.. we should charge extra money per kid like how apartments charge per pet.
Of course we won’t do that but definitely funny to think about.
I always think to myself stating “Welcome to Landlord world” to deal with all messy, screwed up, broken, etc etc.
I grew up always wanting to be landlord and some people thought I was CRAZY nuts for wanting to be a landlord. Now that I look back, I understand why they thought I was nuts.
I don’t mind being landlord again but just that it’s harder this time because we live 3 hrs away from the house. So hopefully, one of these days, we can be closer to the house then it shouldn’t be a problem.
Wait and see how it goes the next year with new renters!

Geo, I know Seesmic video is so long to wait. I have been wait. I gave up and leave it alone until I dropped Tara off and her boyfriend’s ( Gabe) house which they are moving out before next week. Now, Tara and her boyfriend might not seen each other. Tara got new job at PCC Organic store today. it is kind of hard on them. Gabe is going to moving to REnton where he can staying with his father’s house. His mom, Jan fed up with Gabe got trouble last spring. So they work out.
I hope your video will running little longer.

I dont understand all the holes in the wall… they obviously werent hanging pictures that the kids did, they had them on the walls!! Too funny… I would be embarrased if I ever left a place like that!! You would think that they would have cleaned that up b4 ya all came… but as the saying goes, it is so muh easier to destroy that whih isn’t yours. Good luck with the next renters!!
Bummer. Did you keep the deposit money to cover the damage? I kept the money until the renter fixed the hole on the wall and painted the walls all over the house before giving them back to her. I decided not to rent any of my house again.
Omg!! Funny you say you want to be a Landlord.. So did I too. I knew it wasn’t easy job but if you had like bunch of phone numbers that you can make the calls. It wouldn’t be hard. Or do it yourself to save bit more money than spend it on someone else to do it. It’s list of possibility to choose from.
I hope those drawings can be wash off cuz I remember for my oldest he did it all over in his room even the door too.. I was able to get everything off except for the door.. It’s still there!! It just stubborn refused to come off.. LOL What’s more, it was a washable marker..

Oh I gotta mention one thing that these old renters who just moved out are actually great family, just unfortunately, they had to move out due to personal reasons. So we were sad to see them go and hopefully to stay in touch for sure.
They are trying everything best they can to get the house back in shape by end of this week and we will take care the rest.
Will keep you all posted when we check out the house on our next trip.

hmmm since you mention the vlog regarding renters leaving holes and drawings on the walls… doesnt your rental agent goes and inspect the place every 3 months ?? to make sure all maintenance is in order and any markings on walls etc.
For here where i am renting .. in the clause we are not allowed to hang or put anymore pictures on walls only that have hooks are there is only allowed to be used.
Markings if it is notice therefore it is the tenant responsible to clean it up or it will be reported back to the landlord and they make the call to tell them to clean it up or their security deposit will be docked.
The rental agreement here is very very strict .. one slip ya evicted PRONTO !!!

Oh, that is interesting about rental agent, never heard of it. I guess we don’t have that around here or perhaps we do but it costs money? Who knows.
Since it was our first time renting it out so now we know what to expect and learned from it by putting down new rules on the contract.
So whenever we put down rules on the contract, it’s the lease they have to sign and make agreement to follow and such.
Security deposit will be docked from what it costs to repair and if nothing left for them to get anything back then they won’t get a cent back. But at least, our old renters will take care of few things this week so hopefully that will save us some time and some dollars.
We will wait and see and of course we will be more strict with next renters by adding more rules and more deposit to put in. You are right about not allowed to hang pictures or anything on the wall which we will put that in the contract from now on.
