OMG, when I saw that pic, right off the bat I knew you were holding them in a wrong way!
It takes years of practice to perfect eating with chopsticks. I started eating with them when I was 9 years old. At first it was hard for a couple of years or less until I got the hang of that. It takes a while. Master in eating rice with chopsticks are the hardest of all! Keep practicing till you perfect the techniques. Of course you can use a fork after a few bites with chopsticks because you don’t want cold food though. Until then you’ll be eating everything with chopsticks during the WHOLE meal courses.

[..YouTube..] good job i learned to use them wheni was in 5th grade but did not master them untill i was older, you should be able to learn faster becuse you do know ASL i found out that i can use them better after i learned ASL for my deaf brother in law who i lived witrh for 2 years. if you grt som M&Ms and practis with that it shouls help i can now pick up single grains of rice

I have to say that every time I tried to use chopsticks I failed completely!! So when I was dating I always told whom ever I was with ” I never tried this before”. I mean I could not explain that I am totally useless. BUT it has solved a world wide question…. “WHY ARE CHINESE PEOPLE ALWAYS THIN?” So it was always worth trying over and over again {I guess} Even Jack uses them !

Good attempt. I remember my first attempt was just as hilarious as yours. I love using chopsticks everyday at home now though. Replaces my forks and knives. :) Good on you for trying.

It’s just years of using chopsticks at restaurants like Mongolian BD BBQ or (similiar to that restaurant ) HuHot Also asian food, japanese food (sush ;) ) and many more. However from my friend who stayed in Japan for a while told me that the japanese people actually dont use chopsticks, they use their own fingers!! I was like WHAT!?!?! you’re serious!? Interesting!!

My boyfriend is Vietnamese, so we use chopstick every day and I don’t really think about it. When my American friends or family come over, I have to remember to give them fork. LOL
