Beautiful pictures. Is it his camera that takes those colorful pictures or he edit them to make it look like that colorful?? It’s beautiful. Tell him to keep it up. It looks gorgeous. :)
August 13th, 2007 at 8:22 pm
Hi FairLady!
He took these pictures in HDR (High Dynamic Rage) and edit to make it a bit more brighter.
He’s good at taking pictures in HDR. :-D
In case, anyone wonder what HDR is, here’s the link to explain how it works.

My children used to play on the grass and on the swings at Esther Short Park when they were young. It has sure changed! They have an excellent Saturday and Sunday Market in that area now, too.
Nice pictures from Jes, as usual! A very talented young man!

Awesome, gorgeous, and talent pictures, Jes!! :-) I love your photography works.
I’ve been to Esther Short Park a several times where I used to live there before. I took my daughter to the park for wading in water. Very lovely and old historial-type. I like going to Portland area for shopping and pleasant.
You looks so natural in picture, Geo! (in background, people in kayaka boat row away)

Thanks everybody!! Mike, these pictures (except for one with geo) were “photoshoped” with program called Photomatix (link is in comment #2). Along with blending 3 differently exposed images, i increased saturation to make the colors brighter and stand out more.

Hey Vikki,
Aww… glad I made your day! :-)
Oh, funny you mentioned Burgerville. I rarely ever eat at fast food restaurants except Arby’s and Burgerville. But unfortunately, there is none Burgerville here in Seattle area nor even in Tri-Cities where we’re moving to soon.
So, every time we go down to Vancouver, WA or Portland, OR.. we always must eat at Burgerville at least once before we come back home.
You are right, nothing beats their special sauces. :-D

Hey Margaret,
Actually, it’s not Burgerville. If you look at this link, click here, for all Burgerville locations in WA, there is none for Seattle.
You must be thinking of different burger, there are 3 different burger places in the area. It’s called “A Burger Place”, “Herfy’s Burger”, & “Burger & Kobob Hut.” :-D

Again, why would Burgerville site left out Seattle? Because there isn’t one in the area.
The 45th street you mentioned close to Safeway is called Dick’s Drive-In, click here and the address is 111 NE 45th St just exactly where you mentioned?

Hey Margaret,
HA.. it’s okay. I know it can get confusing sometimes with similar names.
I see there is a restaurant called Burgermaster.
Almost same as Burgerville so now you know there isn’t Burgerville in Seattle areas. ;-)

Hi Karla!
Believe it or not, Jes and I used to live in an apartment right across the street from Clark Community College where he attended the first year.
So, that was about at least a mile from WSD. I visited there once for festival and it was a lot of fun.
That is correct, it’s not too far from WSD to Esther Short Park, probably around 2-4 miles. :-D

Jes takes great pictures and he does it very well with photoshop to make it more interesting…
Does Jes do portraits? I’m curious how it looks on a person when they are modeling for a magazine or for headshot…it would be a good business to do as well.
If I need a photographer – I’ll ask Jes!
August 14th, 2007 at 4:04 pm
Wow, beautiful pictures. I didn’t know that was an Esther Short Park when I attended WSD.
I had never seen the “Burgermaster”. We have the “Whataburger” in Texas.

Hey Karla,
Yep we liked Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA but we had to move to Seattle area 3 years ago when I was offered to transfer up here for the job.
So, maybe someday when Jes is done with school, we will move back to Oregon. Who knows.
Yep, I moved a lot since I was teen and hope I will finally settle in one of these days lol.
